Devi Complex

A narrow plot, asked to do a lot

A commercial building on a corner plot has to resolve several things at once: parking at grade, a ground floor that reads as retail from the street, and upper floors that a tenant can actually plan around. Devi Complex stacks those without letting the parking level hollow out the base — the structure lifts the building over the cars and gives the corner a proper edge.

Two facades, two jobs

The long elevation is treated as a solid, punctuated wall — deep reveals that shade the openings and keep the west sun off the glass. The corner turns to a full-height glazed face where the building wants to be seen and where the tenant signage belongs. One side handles the climate, the other handles the address.

Built to be re-let

A commercial building outlives its first tenant. Floor plates are kept open and serviced from a single core, so a future occupant can subdivide or take a whole floor without cutting into structure — the difference between a building that re-lets easily and one that needs work every time it changes hands.
